I’m delighted to be able to share this incredible Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice inspired shoot set at the beautiful Prior Park College in Bath. The shoot was the brainchild of Lauren Alexander Weddings, who coordinated and styled the shoot. Prior Park College was the perfect setting. With stunning architecture and impressive grounds, and situated overlooking Bath, it provided a beautiful backdrop for the shoot.
Carina Baverstock Couture supplied the wedding dresses for the shoot. The authentic ‘Austen’ look featured a dress by David Fielden. Whilst the modern ‘Austen’ look featured a dress by Jenny Packham. Kayte Fawsett created incredible bespoke boots for the shoot. They were pale blue with a Georgian wallpaper pattern, sympathetic to the era.
The shoot showcased two main looks for the Bride and Groom. A more traditional wedding look that was sympathetic to the Pride and Prejudice ‘Austen’ look. The second look which was a modern take on the theme.
Inkflower Press designed calligraphy styled stationery. It was printed on lush linen and translucent papers. Giving an elegant and luxurious feel to them. Molton Wedding Rings supplied ethically made rings. Made using fairtrade gold. Claire Lloyd Accessories supplied beautiful and elegant jewellery pieces. They matched the theme in a delicate shade of blue and cream. The Lucky Sixpence created to incredible bespoke hairpieces that wore worn by the model.
Let Them Eat Yummy Cake
Dainty Bakes made authentically styled cakes. They were sponge with a buttercream icing. And were decorated with edible flowers in colours of pink, purple, yellow and greens. The result was absolutely stunning. There were little round biscuits on a silver platter. They matched the cakes with white icing and an edible flower imprinted on them.
Pretty Details All-Around
The Bride wore gorgeous cream leather gloves authentic to the era. And had a wonderful bespoke napkin embroidered with Elizabeth Bennet’s initials. Extra Special Touch did an amazing job. Tulle and Blue supplied pretty satin ring pillows to use.
Modern Austen at Prior Park College
The floral styling was out of this world. Jasper and Quinn Florist created bountiful bouquets, buttonholes and floral collars. And show-stopping floral arches and free-standing table decorations. All in keeping with a palette of soft yellows, pale blues, whites and green foliage. The groom wore a Marc Darcy suit from Suave Owl. After the shoot, we all get to play with he gorgeous pup too.
Luxurious Table Setting
The table setting included a free-standing floral arrangement. White decorative chargers with gold-edged white plates were used. Gold cutlery complemented along with crystal glassware. Pretty glass candlesticks with pale blue candles created an intimate atmosphere. Small round iced flower biscuits and sachets of seeds completed the look. To create an elegant and luxurious wedding table at Prior Park College.
The day ended with a few bridal portraits outside. Which showcased the stunning Georgian architecture and impressive grounds. Prior Park College is situated overlooking Bath and provided a beautiful backdrop in keeping with the era.
The aim of the shoot was to create something beautiful, classic and achievable for a couple. Something for those who cherish the little things. Who see the importance of sustainability, and who love colour used in an elegant way. And most importantly appreciate a little quirkiness. I think we definitely achieved that.
