I could not be more thrilled to bring you this incredibly beautiful and romantic River Cottage wedding. Tucked amongst the rolling hills of the Deven Dorset border, a stone’s throw from Axminster and Lyme Regis, is Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Farm, as seen on the River Cottage TV series. A 100-acre, working, organic farm exclusively yours for you and your guests to enjoy. It offers the perfect backdrop for couples who love the outdoors to exchange their vows.

Bridal Preparations in the River Cottage House

The gorgeous Bride got ready for the ceremony in the beautiful and stylish farmhouse. It has three light and spacious bedrooms, including a luxurious master suite. So plenty of room to accommodate your bridesmaids, and for hair and make-up the morning of the wedding.

The bride wore a beautiful ethereal floaty gown by Savin London, which befitted the dreamy garden vibe of the wedding day. She found the gown at Lace & Grace Bridal Boutique in Keynsham, the last boutique of the day she visited. She complimented the look with a hair vine, earrings, and a matching necklace, all by Ivory & Co, Her simple ivory shoes were from Rainbow Club.

Florist Charlie Ryrie at The Wild Gardener created beautiful florals, which included bouquet, buttonholes, and table arrangements. She also created a stunning floral and foliage display on the pergola in the garden, which was the backdrop for the wedding ceremony.

A Romantic River Cottage Wedding Ceremony

The famous kitchen garden offers the most picturesque setting for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Whether you choose to get married on the doorsteps of the River Cottage farmhouse or at the end of the rose pergola. The gardens offer a beautiful relaxed setting to enjoy, not just for the wedding ceremony but for the reception, where you and your guests can enjoy the beauty of the organic flower and vegetable patches.

If you prefer a more formal indoor setting then River Cottage has the spectacular 18th-century Threshing Barn. A versatile space full of English rustic charm. It can seat up to 60 guests, with space for an additional 20 guests on the outdoor decking in the summer months.

A Farm Wedding Reception

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests made the most of the beautiful River Cottage setting, which un activities such as Skittles and welly wanging. Guests could also enjoy a tour of the farm where they could meet the pigs and the farm cat, Marmalade.

Love and Romance in the Gardens

Besides the food for which River Cottage HQ is famed, it also boasts the most impressive grounds. Once the formal group photographs have been taken and guests mingle enjoying champagne and canapes, there is a myriad of beautiful spots to slip away to for your bride and groom photos. Whether you prefer panoramic landscape photographs with the River Cottage farm as the backdrop or more intimate close-up portraits with the soft bokeh of the kitchen garden flowers in the background.

You might like some fun photos with the farm animals or maybe you want to enjoy some romantic hazy sunset photos in the farm’s meadow fields. Whatever takes your fancy, I’ll capture some truly beautiful and memorable moments infused with light and romance in my signature pastel and painterly style.

A Scrumptious River Cottage Banquet

With food at the heart of River Cottage, all of the wedding menus feature the finest seasonal organic ingredients that are sourced locally and grown and reared on the farm itself. As bride and groom, you’ll be able to collaborate with the talented River Cottage chefs to create a bespoke wedding breakfast menu featuring all your favourite dishes. This wedding breakfast menu was created for the day in collaboration with the head chef, Gelf Anderson.

The chefs will even create a beautiful naked or semi-naked wedding cake, beautifully decorated with seasonal fruit and edible flowers, in your favourite flavours. Guaranteed to be hit and wow your guests.

Party Time at River Cottage

In the evening, the tables and chairs were cleared away, leaving space to accommodate up to 120 guests, and your band or DJ of choice. The happy couple chose The Haus Band. to provide music to dance and party the night away to. After their feet could dance no more they slipped back to the farmhouse, where the newlyweds woke up the following morning to the far-reaching views across the Axe valley and the smell of freshly baked bread winding up the staircase.
