“Oh Jen they are beautiful! Thank you so so much”
It was such a pleasure to photograph beautiful Janie of Lucky Sixpence and her lovely husband, Dale at Knightshayes in Tiverton this Autumn. Janie wanted me to photograph her and her husband just enjoying themselves in the outdoors with their cheeky and exuberant dog, Barney to celebrate her pregnancy, and impending bundle of joy soon to follow.

I love taking these relaxed, natural images, making the most of what nature has to offer with the ever-changing seasonal backdrops. And using the light to create soft, flattering and beautiful images. From my own personal experience, I know when you’re pregnant you can feel awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera as your bump gets larger and larger. But my style of maternity shoot is super relaxed and fun, with the odd bit of direction thrown in so that you feel comfortable and relaxed and enjoy your time achieving beautiful photos that are a perfect reminder of one of the most special times in your life.

Knighthayes is an amazing location, situated in Tiverton and one of my favourite places to shoot. In the Autumn it’s alight with the oranges and browns of the changing leaves on the trees. And in the Spring months, it comes alive with the yellows of the daffodils, the blues of the crocuses and the pink and reds that follow on the rhododendrons.
Janie and Dale’s shoot took advantage of the beautiful autumnal colours and was the perfect combination of relaxed fun and adventure with their dog Barney and romance and excitement of a couple deliriously in love about to become parents. I really do adore these kinds of shoots, not just because I like being out and about outside, but because these moments fly by as you experience the joys of parenthood and it’s so lovely to be able to step back in time and be in the moment with these couples as they start their journey of becoming parents.
