“Wow!!! We absolutely love the photos!!! You’ve done such a great job of making us look photogenic! Thank you so much! Can’t wait for the wedding day now”
When it comes to great locations for engagement shoots I’m totally spoiled for choice living here in the beautiful West Country, but I was thrilled when Anna and James agreed to my suggestion of Hestercombe House which is in Somerset, and is a beautiful building with a unique collection of gardens which span three centuries of garden history and design.
We met up on a Sunday morning in March. The weather didn’t really seem to know what it wanted to be, starting off overcast and gloomy before the sun came showing us with it’s gorgeous warm rays and then eventually deciding on rain as we finished up.
We started off by walking up through the Victorian Shrubbery as we headed up the incline towards the Summerhouse where the surrounding area and banks were awash with the sunny yellow of Daffodils. We then headed along the pathway towards the Chinese seat where we stopped for a few minutes and admired the views before we headed down the incline towards the Great Cascade, or waterfall if you prefer. There we stopped to take some beautiful romantic shots with the waterfall in the background to add a sense of drama to the romance. Then it was on towards the Victorian Terrace, with it’s beautiful Pergola stopping off for a few cheeky shots among the Magnolia trees.
We finished up at the Dutch Gardens, where Anna and James said what a brilliant time they had had and how I had put them at ease.
