The Weekend Wedding Retreat- Relax, Celebrate, Repeat
Eighty acres of extraordinary
Deer Park Country House is one of those venues that gets under your skin. Eighty acres of Devon countryside, a Georgian manor that manages to feel both grand and completely intimate, and light that does something genuinely extraordinary at golden hour. I've photographed weddings here more times than I can count and I fall for it every single time.
The ceremony options alone are worth the visit. The light-flooded Orangery with its floor-to-ceiling windows and soft romantic glow for those who want the drama of an indoor "I do." The charming Summerhouse nestled in the gardens for couples who want to say their vows with the Devon countryside stretching out around them. Both are stunning. Both photograph beautifully in every season.
What sets Deer Park apart isn't just how it looks, it's how it feels. There's a warmth here that filters through every part of the day, and it shows in the photographs.
Breathtaking Backdrops and Ridiculously Good Food
The estate's 80 acres give us endless options — immaculately kept lawns, enchanting woodland, the walled garden with its flourishing flowers and secret garden feel, and the Italian garden's geometric topiary adding a touch of European glamour. And when the light drops in the late afternoon and hits those sweeping Devonshire fields, it's golden hour magic that never gets old.
The Orangery is the showstopper for receptions. Elegant design, stunning views over the gardens, soft natural light flooding the space — whether you go lush and floral or pared back and minimal, it photographs beautifully either way.
And the food. The in-house chefs work with produce picked fresh daily from the estate's own gardens, with high-quality meats sourced from trusted local farmers. Every wedding meal here feels like it was made specifically for you. Because it was.
Where Luxury Feels Like Home
Hosting your wedding at Deer Park means your guests get to stay in beautifully styled rooms, each with its own character. The bridal party has The Playhouse for getting ready — a gorgeous dedicated space that was clearly designed by someone who understands the morning-of chaos. The groomsmen get The Ultimate Boys Getting Ready Shed, which is exactly what it sounds like and significantly more stylish than it sounds.
And for the newlyweds? The Thatched Treehouse. Nestled in a cluster of old oaks, with a log burner, a roll-top bath and a wraparound balcony. The kind of first night as a married couple that you genuinely never want to end.
I've had the absolute joy of capturing love stories at Deer Park and every single time the combination of the setting, the light and the warmth of the team here makes my job feel like the best one in the world. If you're planning your wedding at Deer Park Country House and want a photographer who knows every corner of this venue and loves it as much as you do, I'd love to hear from you.
