What happened to March? I thought it was going to be the start of spring with bleating lambs frolicking in their fields and the banks of the country roads blooming with bright yellow daffodils tilting their heads under blue skies to feel the warm sunbeams from above. But no todays wedding at Combe Lodge started off damp and grizzly and although the sun tried desperately throughout the day to peek out through the grey clouds, outside grey and grizzly was the order of the day, however inside was a very different story – love and laughter was the order of the day! Today’s wedding set in the beautiful Somerset countryside just outside of Bristol at Combe Lodge, a lovely country manor house, was with the lovely Karinna of Barefoot Photography.
I absolutely love shooting my own weddings, but I’m also enjoy being able to work and shoot for other very talented photographers too. It’s such a great opportunity to do this. We get to learn new things from each other and bounce ideas off each other, and you always have someone to call. Today I was shooting for Karrina, who has the most delightful little baby girl, that my own daughter is besotted with.
The happy couple were local, but had family and friends travelling from all to join them on their wedding day , so they wanted a venue that was cosy, intimate and big enough for everyone to get together and enjoy an evening of nuptials, delicious food, good music, laughter and help create some happy memories to start their married life. And Combe Lodge certainly fit the bill for all of that.
The bride looked radiant in her dress. And the Groom was also looked very dashing in his suit. The bride’s friend created the floral masterpieces of the bouquets which you can see below and were being put together as I photographed around the room that morning.
And even though it was a grey grizzly day outside, the love and laughter from this bride and groom and their guests was warm enough to brave outside for a few a few portrait shots!
